Climate

Zimbabwe is a year-round destination.  We conduct hunts between March and November.  The winter months in Zimbabwe (May to August) are best for hunting.  The bush is not as thick and animals tend to concentrate near the prolific natural springs and waterways.  The Matetsi River dissects the concession and provides perrennial water to the area.   Check Matetsi weather here: https://www.accuweather.com/en/zw/matetsi/354785/weather-forecast/354785

What to wear

Daytime temperatures are warm to hot throughout the year so we recommend light clothing. During the winter months it can get quite cold, so a warm jacket or good fleece is essential. Make sure that you have comfortable, well worn-in walking shoes/boots. Other essential items include binoculars, hunting knife, a reliable camera, sunglasses, a good hat and suntan lotion. We also recommend that you bring a small medical kit for your own use.  Three sets of clothes should be enough as laundry is done on a daily basis. Please note that it is illegal to wear military camouflage clothing in Zimbabwe.

Health & Safety

Zimbabwe is one of the safest tourist destinations in the world.  The country has a mild climate, very hospitable people and incredible natural scenery.  No vaccinations are required for entry into Zimbabwe.  However, malaria precaution is recommended.  Consult your doctor prior to departure about Malaria In Zimbabwe.

While Zimbabwe has relatively low numbers of Covid-19 infections and Hunting has been listed as a Low Risk sport, please contact us to find out more about booking your trip.

Cites Permits

If you’ll be hunting animals listed under CITES, you must apply for an import permit in your home country prior to your departure. You must bring a copy of your CITES permit with you.

Visas & Embassies

A valid passport and onward or returning ticket is required for entry into Zimbabwe. A visa is required for entry into Zimbabwe for most countries and can be obtained at the airport upon entry but please consult the Zimbabwe Immigration website.

Family & Observers

Non-hunters and family members are welcome and extra activities can be arranged. We can offer day trips to Victoria Falls, overnight on a houseboat on Lake Kariba or a few days fishing for the elusive Zambezi River Tiger Fish.

Firearms

We recommend that you bring your own rifles (which you are familiar with) and an adequate supply of good quality ammunition. It is important to bring soft bags for the transportation of each rifle on the hunting vehicle. We’ll gladly offer advice regarding the choice of calibers and ammunition for the species you wish to hunt. Should you prefer not to bring your rifles we have a range of calibers that are available from us to hire.

Trophy Export

We know how important your trophies are to you. Field preparation and the subsequent care and transfer of your trophies to a reputable taxidermist or shipping agent is conducted in an expert manner.

The trophy export and handling fee (dip, pack and ship) depends on the specific trophies being exported and are a separate charge paid to the taxidermist of your choice.

Please contact us to request information about the local taxidermist /shipper that we recommend.
